Patient Aftercare

As a patient of Monarch Beauty Aesthetics, we want to ensure you the absolute best experience and results possible. Understanding your aftercare protocol following your treatment is of extreme importance. If you have any questions in regards to your aftercare, call / text 423.788.2042.

Botox, Xeomin, Jeuveau

Stay upright for 4 hours- no side lying/bending over/ball caps/napping for 4 hours as toxins settle in the muscle.
May wear makeup 4 hours post procedure- be mindful of pressure and wipe in upward motions
No retinol or abrasive skin care/exfoliation for 3 days post procedure
Avoid exercise for 24 hours
Avoid hot tubs, saunas and massages for 24 hours
No direct pressure on areas injected for minimum 4 hours and being mindful of pressure for up to 24 hours post injections
Avoid alcohol, ibuprofen, Vit E, fish oils and blood thinning herbs for 24 hours (unless directed otherwise by PCP).
Nothing invasive or abrasive for 2 weeks such as (dermal rollers, microneedling, laser treatments, etc).
It takes 2 full weeks for the toxin to fully settle. We will not inject toxin in the 2 week period to ensure nothing kicks in late and causes too much heaviness. After 2 weeks, adjustments may be made if necessary.
Toxin is projected to last up to 3 months if dosed fully. If we dose minimally, toxin may not last a full 3 months.

Dermal Filler

Expect to lose about 5-10% of volume you see immediately post injections due to swelling/inflammation
Use the provided ice pack for 3 days as swelling is subsiding. Swelling is worse the morning after injections. Use an ice pack and get up and move and it will start to go down some.
Arnica gel is great for reducing bruising and swelling and may be found in the first aid aisle at any local store (Walmart, Target, CVS, Walgreens etc).
Avoid exercise for 24 hours to reduce swelling and sweat to area
Avoid hot tubs, saunas and massages for 24 hours
Avoid direct pressure for 24 hours.
Do not massage the area unless otherwise advised.
Avoid alcohol, ibuprofen, Vit E, fish oils and blood thinning herbs for 24 hours (unless directed otherwise by PCP).
Takes 2 full weeks for filler to settle. There may be some lumpiness during this time and should settle in a 2 week period.
After 2 weeks we can reassess and do touch ups as needed.
Filler is projected to last about 12 months at full correction and may last less if we do not fully correct area

Microneedling

*Use tepid water for the initial 24 hours to rinse the treated area. After 24 hours, use a gentle cleanser to cleanse the face for the following 72 hours and gently dry the treated skin. Always make sure that your hands are clean when touching the treated area.

Apply the SkinPen® lubricant provided for moisture over the next 24 hours.
Do not take any inflammatory medicines for at least 2 weeks post treatment.
It is recommended that makeup or sunscreen hould not be applied for 24 hours after the procedure. Do not apply any makeup with a makeup brush, especially if it is not clean.
After the initial 24 hours, apply a broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen with a minimum SPF 30 for two weeks. A chemical-free sunscreen is highly recommended.

PDO Threads

Ice the treated area for a few minutes for four to five times during the day for the first week if you are experiencing slight bruising or swelling.
Restrict facial movements for one day. Make sure to rest for a full day after getting the treatment.
You can move around wherever you want, but don’t perform any strenuous activity or heavy lifting for three weeks.
You can take pain killers as required after the procedure. Try consuming them after a meal to avoid any risk of nausea.
It is best to avoid aspirins for the next two weeks after the treatment. Tylenol is preferred.
Avoid applying makeup or facial cream for at least 48 hours.
You should not drink a beverage with a straw and focus on drinking liquids or consuming soft foods for at least a week.
Chewing gum should be avoided for at least two weeks.
Experiencing slight discomfort in the first two days after the procedure is normal, it will gradually reduce.
Try keeping your head elevated for a week.
Don’t pull your facial skin, massage, scrub or exfoliate the skin for at least three weeks. You are also not supposed to wash or touch your face for at least 12 hours.
Follow the care guidelines the practitioner gives you regarding the incision wounds.
It is recommended that you sleep on your back to prevent any swelling. Avoid straining or placing pressure on your face as it may result in thread misalignment.
Avoid getting any dental treatment for at least two weeks after getting the PDO thread lift.
In case of unusual pain or swelling, it is important to consult your practitioner to get the appropriate treatment immediately.

Hyper Dilute Radiesse

Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours
Avoid blood thinners for one week after treatment. Arnica is an option and can lessen bruising
Do not apply makeup, preferably for 4 hours after treatment. Waiting 24 hours is best.
Continue to avoid alcohol for 1-2 days if bruising occurs as it could worsen
Call the office immediately if the areas treated become red, hot to the touch, or blanched white days after treatment.
***Massage a few times a day, a few minutes each time***
Massage 5x daily for 5 days – at least 5 minutes a day to ensure smoothness and prevention of nodules

Fat Dissolver (PCDC)

Swelling, tenderness, firmness and numbness at injection site are normal and common side effects that may persist up until your second treatment.
Avoid exercise for 24 hours post injections
Use provided ice pack to ice site for 3 days and this will help with swelling
You may take Ibuprofen for swelling and tenderness, being mindful that it may exacerbate bruising. Tylenol is sufficient as well for tenderness.
Compression of area and elevation (remaining upright post injections) will help with swelling.
Max results seen 4 to 6 weeks post injections and will require 3-4 sessions spaced about 6 weeks apart.

RF Microneedling

Please be advised that you may experience mild redness and erythema, pinpoint bruising, peeling, or swelling for one to three days after treatment. Redness for 3 to 5 days is a common side effect.
No lotions, makeup or other topical products should be applied on the treatment area on the day of the procedure. Use only the provided cooling mask. You may save the contents of the mask and reuse the mask once more.
It is important to keep your skin hydrated and adopt the use of sun-block (applied multiple times a day) as your daily regimen, as well as covering up by wearing a hat when outdoors.
You may resume wearing makeup 24 hours post procedure. Always ensure you apply SPF first!
You should not touch your face for the remainder of the day and night after your treatment. You may cleanse your skin with cool water and a gentle cleanser, followed by a moisturizer and sunscreen the next morning.
It is recommended to have a minimum of 3 – 6 treatments, each treatment being 4 to 6 weeks apart for maximum benefit of the RF Microneedling. New collagen formation takes 3 to 6 months to develop. Please be patient. Once desired results are achieved, a maintenance treatment should be done every 3 to 4 months to maintain results

PRP Under-Eyes

Calm the swelling by applying ice on the treated area.
Keep your skin protected from direct sunshine.
Do not use any chemical cleansers or makeup on your skin for 2 days.
Avoid going for swimming or steam and sauna baths that can expose the skin to hot temperatures.
Your skin may feel dry and flaky. Nourish it with aquaphor for 2-3 days.
Expect to see results around 4 to 6 weeks after the session. Will require 3-6 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart

Lip Filler

Expect to lose about 5-10% of volume you see immediately post injections due to swelling/inflammation
No lipstick for 24 hours – may use aquaphor for dryness
Use the provided ice pack for 3 days as swelling is subsiding. Swelling is worse the morning after injections. Use an ice pack and get up and move and it will start to go down some.
Increase water intake and apply aquaphor as needed if lips feel dry
Bruising is a normal and common occurrence. Arnica gel is great for reducing bruising and swelling and may be found in the first aid aisle at any local store (Walmart, Target, CVS, Walgreens etc). Pineapple helps with bruising as well.
Avoid exercise for 24 hours to reduce swelling and sweat to area
Avoid hot tubs, saunas and massages for 24 hours
Avoid direct pressure for 24 hours
Do not massage the area unless otherwise advised.
Avoid alcohol, ibuprofen, Vit E, fish oils and blood thinning herbs for 24 hours (unless directed otherwise by PCP).
Minimize drinking through straw, vaping/smoking and any extra curricular mouth movements for 3 to 5 days as filler is molding in place- NOT DOING SO MAY RESULT IN FILLER MIGRATION
Takes 2 full weeks for filler to settle. There may be some lumpiness during this time and should settle in a 2 week period.
After 2 weeks we can reassess and do touch ups as needed.
Call me if you experience any abnormal unilateral pain, pain that continues to worsen, numbness or white discoloration were to occur.
Mini Lips will last about 6-8 months
Full Lips last about 12-15 months

Under-Eye Filler

Ice with provided ice pack for 1-3 days as swelling is subsiding
Begin oral antihistamine (Zyrtec, Claritin) for 2 weeks post under eye injections
Elevate your head of bed with pillows for 1-3 days as swelling is subsiding
No massaging the area. If any area concerns you, please reach out to your Aesthetic provider.
Stay hydrated with water and minimize salt consumption

Avoid exercise for 24 hours to reduce swelling and sweat to area
Avoid hot tubs, saunas and massages for 24 hours
Avoid direct pressure for 24 hours
Avoid alcohol, ibuprofen, Vit E, fish oils and blood thinning herbs for 24 hours (unless directed otherwise by PCP).

Follow up as needed in 2-3 weeks
We under correct the tear trough/under eye area to maintain natural appearance so 2-3 sessions may be required for maximum correction depending on severity of tear trough deformity.
Results last about 9-12 months with one session. Once 2-3 sessions complete and max correction has been achieved, yearly touch ups may only be required.

Perfect Derma Peel

During the first 6 hours, do not wash, touch, rub, or apply make-up to the treated area.
Avoid direct sunlight to treated area for 48 hours
Derma Moisturizer with 1% hydrocortisone (included in Patient Home Care Kit) may be used after 6 hours if the skin feels excessively irritated
No exercise for 24 hours post peel
